When I visit food manufacturers and we walk their warehouse, we see a variety of barcodes on their incoming ingredients. When considering a move to using scanners in your warehouse for product movement, it’s important to have an understanding of the various barcodes what information they contain and therefore, how they can be used. This short video explains two common types of barcodes, one is retail barcodes (GTIN-12), and the next is case barcodes (GTIN-14).
Once you watch this video you will want to watch my video on Code 128 barcodes as it is the kind of barcodes that can be used for traceability.
