Judith Kirkness, Minotaur VP of Sales, traveled in July to Nanaimo, British Columbia on beautiful Vancouver Island to sign up Minotaur’s latest customer, Paradise Island Foods (www.paradise-foods.com). Paradise Island is a cheese producer and distributor of dairy and other food products to food service and grocery retailers, primarily on the island and in the Vancouver area. Current President Len Thomson and his brother Kevin (VP of Operations) are sons of the founder of Paradise, George Thomson, and have been running the business since 2005. They were the first island company to purchase a fleet of enviro- trucks and trailers, and are a green production and distribution leader. We at Minotaur are excited to be helping them consolidate their seven different software tools into one Minotaur system.
While in Nanaimo, Judith toured the facility of another 2012 Minotaur customer St. Jean’s Cannery and Smokehouse. Here is a picture of Judith and the St. Jean’s management team outside their famous giant can of salmon which contains their boardroom and their Canning museum. They celebrated 50 years in business in 2011 and are still owned and managed by the founder Gerard St. Jean. They are one of Fedex Canada’s largest cold accounts as they have a unique business model where sport fishers can send the fish they catch to St. Jean’s and St. Jeans will prepare, freeze or can those fish and ensure that person’s fish is returned to them.
