Growing Forward 2 is a grant for Canadian food processors to obtain funding for various investments and projects. The 1st intake for applications for Growing Forward 2 single company implementation projects is Sept 9, 2013 to Oct 24, 2013. Grant funds will be awarded after Oct 24th as applications will be evaluated based on project merit rather than submission date. Projects should focus on one of the six primary focus areas meeting the various evaluation criteria as outlined in the guidebook but will likely provide the company advantages/benefits under one or more of the other focus areas which should also be discussed in the application.
How It Relates to Minotaur
The Minotaur system is an Enterprise Traceability solution (ERP) that ties together all aspects of the business from inventory, traceability, QC, product costing, sales reporting, warehouse management and more. Projects with and without barcode scanning can both assist with traceability and increase productivity. Projects involving the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and traceability systems are indicated in the guidebook in the following areas:
C. Assurance Systems (Food Safety, Traceability and Animal Welfare)
C.5: Implement recall and traceability practices and procedures
C.8: Develop and/or implement enhanced traceability and information sharing systems(s)
E. Labour Productivity Enhancement
E.1: Install technology, equipment and software systems, and develop procedures to increase automation and labour productivity.
E.2: Implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) best practices and Supply Chain optimization.
Implementation projects qualify for a 35% cost share. The Growing Forward 2 program is a stackable grant program and therefore can be combined with other stackable grant programs.
